eSummit Charity Initiative – YGAM

KPMG Malta has chosen The Young Gamers and Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) as our charity partner for 2019’s eSummit. YGAM is a UK-Registered national charity with a social purpose to inform, educate, safeguard and build digital resilience amongst young and vulnerable people, helping them to make informed decisions and understand consequences around gambling and social gaming. This is achieved through two principle education products. The first is our accredited practitioner workshops where we train and certify teachers, youth workers, community mental health colleagues, prison & probation colleagues and community volunteers to deliver the YGAM gambling & gaming-related harm prevention programme to young people. The second product is university based, where we work in partnership with universities to train year two & three students to become YGAM Peer Mentors. Trained Peer Mentors are then employed part-time to deliver a range of gambling & gaming-related harm prevention programmes and awareness campaigns within their universities and local communities using our educational resources.
